Did you know BC’s tourism industry is ranked as the most important sector of  the economy – generating billions of dollars annually? Much of the industry’s success relies on BC’s amazing biodiversity and variety of healthy, natural landscapes. Invasive species can damage BC’s unique ecosystems and native wildlife – the very things that attract visitors. While there is so much to love about tourism, it is also recognized as a major pathway for the spread of invasive species.

ISCBC has partnered with an amazing group of tourism operators across BC to pilot the Invasive-Wise Tourism program, a training and support program for BC’s tourism industry.

Now in its second year, we are inviting more tourism operators across the province to join the program! In addition to receiving FREE training, support, and resources, becoming an Invasive-Wise Tourism partner is a great way for businesses to stand out. After they implement the program, Invasive-Wise Tourism Operators are promoted through ISCBC communications and social media channels, newsletters and more!

If you are a tourism operator and you are interested in taking part in this program, we invite you to learn more and join today!
