Invasive Species Action Month

Do It Yourself. Stop Invasives Together
Small InvasiveWise actions can have a big impact. When people take simple steps in their daily lives, those choices add up to meaningful protection for the places, activities, and ways of life we all care about.

Every May, Invasive Species Action Month (ISAM) brings people across Canada together to raise awareness and take action against invasive species.

Led nationally by Invasives Canada and coordinated in British Columbia by ISCBC, ISAM highlights the impacts invasive species can have on ecosystems, economies, cultural practices, and everyday activities, while empowering people to take practical action in their own communities.

This yearโ€™s theme, Do It Yourself. Stop Invasives Together., highlights the power of simple individual actions. When people take practical InvasiveWise steps in their daily lives, those efforts add up to meaningful collective impact.

Whether you are cleaning your gear, planting wisely, learning to identify invasive species, or joining local stewardship efforts, everyone has a role to play.

Explore each weekโ€™s theme and follow along on social media for daily tips, reminders, and ways to take action.

Put what you learn into practice at home, outdoors, and in your community.

Take the public action pledge and join ISAM events happening across B.C. and online.

Commit to taking simple invasive-wise actions this May and join others across B.C. in helping stop the spread of invasive species.

Healthy landscapes donโ€™t happen by chance. They happen when people take action.
