Oregon stonecrop
About This Species
Grow me instead of Goldmoss stonecrop
This native, evergreen stonecrop grows from 6 to 15 cm tall blooming with yellow-pink flowers in the summer. It is an excellent spreading groundcover that forms an attractive mat of rosettes of spoon-shaped leaves that are succulent and glabrous (blue green with a whitish bloom) turning a red-bronze in the late summer and fall months. Oregon stonecrop prefers dry, rocky soils and full sun to thrive. Butterflies and hummingbirds love the flowers of this plant.
When selecting non-invasive plants for your garden, be sure to look for those that are suitable for your location, including moisture requirements, hardiness zone, and avoidance of known bear attractants among other factors.
