About This Species

Grow me instead of Yellow toadflax

Pineleaf penstemon has elongated, tubular, coral-red flowers loved by hummingbirds and butterflies. This penstemon is unique for its evergreen, needle-like foliage that gives this plant a fine textured look through each season. Over time this plant will grow a tough, woody base. Pineleaf penstemon prefers hot, dry locations will well-draining soils.

When selecting non-invasive plants for your garden, be sure to look for those that are suitable for your location, including moisture requirements, hardiness zone, and avoidance of known bear attractants among other factors.
