Join the City Nature Challenge!

Date: April 29 - May 2, 2022

The City Nature Challenge is happening across BC this April 29 – May 2! ISCBC’s Community Science Network is kicking off Invasive Species Action Month by taking part in an international BioBlitz event to discover all the biodiversity that exists in and around our cities.

It’s super easy to take part and all you need is the iNaturalist app and an account. The goal is to take photos or record sounds of all types of wild species (animals, plants, birds, insects and more) on any of the four days between April 29 to May 2. Then upload and identify these photos from May 3 to May 8 , with the final results counted on May 9. You can participate as much or as little as you would like and this BioBlitz is open to all skills levels.

To participate, go to the City Nature Challenge: Canada 2022 project on iNaturalist to view all cities participating and join your region/cities project.

If you want to learn more about how to use iNaturalist, ISCBC’s Community Science Network will be hosting a how-to webinar on April 21. You can also read more about the City Nature Challenge and iNaturalist on the City Nature Challenge website.
