A team of ISCBC staff will be on hand this week to answer questions on invasive species at the Grow West Coast Horticulture Trade Show. This new event is the rebrand of the CanWest Horticulture Expo, hosted by the BC Landscape & Nursery Association, and features an outdoor market-style trade show combined with educational seminars and sessions.

In addition to manning ISCBC’s booth, staff will also be joining experts from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and BC Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries at the “Bug Zone”. Here you can learn about invasive plants and pests that impact the horticulture industry. You can talk with entomologists, learn how to report invasive species, and take an insect ID quiz with the chance to win a great prize!

The event takes place at Surrey City Hall Civic Plaza & Civic Hotel. You can find ISCBC’s team in the open-air market during Trade Show hours:

  • Wednesday, September 15th: 11:00am to 7:00pm
  • Thursday, September 16th: 11:00am to 6:00pm
