About This Species

Zone 9a

Grow me instead of Yellow toadflax

Snapdragons, short-lived perennials treated like an annual here in BC, range in height from 0.4 to 0.7 m with delightful spikes of showy flowers (available in many different colours). They are named after the flower shape which resembles a snout of a dragon, very noticeable when a large bee enters for pollen. A very nice border, container, or cut flower choice that is very pollinator friendly.

When selecting non-invasive plants for your garden, be sure to look for those that are suitable for your location, including moisture requirements, hardiness zone, and avoidance of known bear attractants among other factors.
