Grow Me Instead

Siberian iris

Iris sibirica 'Butter and Sugar' or 'Caeser's Brother'

About This Species

Zone 4a

Grow me instead of Yellow flag iris

These two cultivars of Siberian iris are attractive options, and both are tolerant to drought and excessive moisture. ‘Butter and Sugar’ has pale yellow and white flowers while ‘Caeser’s Brother’ has bright purple blooms. Both are clumping with slender, glasslike foliage. Planted together the purple and yellow make a fantastic colour contrast for the garden border or pondside planting.

When selecting non-invasive plants for your garden, be sure to look for those that are suitable for your location, including moisture requirements, hardiness zone, and avoidance of known bear attractants among other factors.
