About This Species

Zone 3a BC Native

Grow me instead of Yellow toadflax

Canada goldenrod is a hardy native perennial that can be used as both a cut flower and as a tall border plant. It can grow up to 70 cm tall with slender, pointy, deep green leaves. Goldenrod flowers bloom in late summer. The deep yellow of the flowers are very attractive to pollinators and other beneficial insects. Goldenrod is tolerant of both wet and dry soils and is a low-maintenance, easy-care plant.

When selecting non-invasive plants for your garden, be sure to look for those that are suitable for your location, including moisture requirements, hardiness zone, and avoidance of known bear attractants among other factors.
