Hi! This is a great topic to discuss. Competitor research plays an important role in the effective logo creation process, especially for a new brand. When you research your competitors, you understand what visual elements and colors are already used in your niche, what logo styles seem to be most popular, and what works in the context of your industry. This helps you avoid repetition and imitation, but it also allows you to determine what elements can be adapted for your logo to make it recognizable and relevant. However, it is important not to simply copy ideas, but to analyze what makes them successful and use this knowledge to create your own unique and effective logo.

Competitor research is a useful tool, but it's important not to get hung up on it. Of course it's useful to know what other brands in your industry are doing, but I think you also need to stay true to your unique ideas and values. It's important that your logo reflects not only general trends, but also the specifics of your brand.
