Indigenous Communities

Invasive species can have significant impacts on Indigenous communities and cultural practices; stewardship of the land and environment has long been important to Indigenous communities. Invasive species can have impacts on ways of life by threatening wildlife, plants, fish and beach foods that are harvested by Indigenous communities. This is why ISCBC is committed to supporting communities in addressing invasive species. Early detection is critical to stopping the spread of invasive species.
